Former North Florida sheriff Charlie Morris was sentenced to six years in prison on August 11, 2009, after being convicted on charges of fraud, conspiracy to commit money laundering, corruption and wire fraud.
Morris, who previously served as the head of the Florida Sheriffs' Association, allegedly ran a scam in which he and Terry Adams would deposit checks into employees' bank accounts, then had the employees return part of the money.
