Charlie and the Chocolate Factory is a 2005 movie about a young boy (Freddie Highmore) who is selected to be one of the few children to take a tour of the factory of reclusive candy maker Willy Wonka (Johnny Depp). Based on the children's book Charlie and the Chocolate Factory by Roald Dahl, and the second adaptation of the book (behind 1971's Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory, the film was a box office success and earned an Academy Award nomination for Best Costume.
