Two families
Though college student Charles initially moved into the Pembroke family residence to act as a live-in babysitter, that all changed when the show went into syndication. The show was canceled by CBS in 1985, but returned to the airwaves in 1987 in syndication. When it returned, the Pembrokes had moved out of the house, to be replaced by the Powell family. Though the plot concerning this change was considered thin by many, the Powells were a more popular cast of characters than the Pembrokes, lasting from 1987 to 1990 when the show was canceled for good.Theme Music Lyrics
