Charles Dean Hood

Charles Dean Hood is a Texas death row inmate scheduled for execution on September 10, 2008. He was convicted of killing Tracie Wallace and Ronald Williamson in 1989.

On September 9, 2008, Hood was granted a stay of execution by the Texas Court of Criminal Appeals based on "developments in the law regarding (jury) nullification instructions."NY Times: Texas Appeals Court Halts Execution (September 9, 2008)

Rumors of Illicit Romance

  • Greg Wiercioch, Hood's attorney, has argued that a secret romance between the judge and the prosecutor tainted the original proceedings, resulting in an unfair trial.
