  • Early Years

    Stringer began her career coaching at Cheyney State College in 1972. Ten years later, she led Cheyney State to the Final Four of the first-ever NCAA Women's Tournament, but ultimately lost to the Louisiana Tech Bulldogs. In 1983, she accepted a position to coach the Iowa Hawkeyes. Her success continued with Iowa, taking the team to the Final Four in 1993 and becoming the first coach to reach the Final Four with two different schools.Rutgers: C. Vivian Stringer
  • Standing Tall

    In 1995, Stringer began coaching at Rutgers. In 2007, she led her team to the Final Four.
