Charice Pempengco, a Filipino singer praised by Oprah in 2008 as being a singer who will go far returned to the Oprah Show on May 11, 2010. The date coincided with the release of her album which features her hit song Pyramid Charise celebrated her 18th birthday on May 10, 2010 just one day before the album was released. The singing prodigy has competed in several local and international competitions. Charice has been competing in singing events since age 7 and was discovered when fans of her performances in reality TV Idol style competitions posted videos of her performances to YouTube in 2007. The young singer had performed on the Filipino talent show known as Little Big Star followed by participating in the South Korean talent show Star King.

It was after these competitions and the viral you tube videos that she was invited to appear on the Ellen DeGeneres Show and then on the Oprah Winfrey Show. Oprah deemed her to be a force to be reckoned with. Her appearances on these shows connected her with David Foster who invited her to perform on David Foster and Friends in Las Vegas. Charice has performed with his show at the Mandalay Bay more than once and is always received by standing ovations.
