In 2005, the NFL played its first game outside of the United States when the San Francisco 49ers and Arizona Cardinals played in Mexico City. An annual London game at Wembley Stadium was introduced in 2007. In the first Wembley game, the New York Giants defeated the Miami Dolphins on October 28, 2007, in front of 81,176 people.
