History of Lingerie
The term lingerie is used for women's undergarments usually made from silk, satin, lycra, lace, and nylon. In the first half of the twentieth century, the purpose of lingerie was to aid the shape of the women's body and create modesty. As lingerie evolved in the 1960's, eroticism entered, giving new meaning to lingerie as visual stimuli.
