The catalog was a quick success, and resulted in Zayers starting a new corporation consisting of Hit or Miss, TJ Maxx, and Chadwick's of Boston under the name TJX Companies. Chadwicks nearly became independent of TJX in 1996, but was instead sold to Brylane Company, now under The Boston Group.

Early in its history, Chadwicks carried only normal sizes. At the time of its acquisition by Brylane, it briefly carried bedding and towels. It remains headquartered near Boston as of 2010.
