Chad Pennington

Pennington signed a two-year contract with the Dolphins as a free agent in August of 2008. In 2009, Pennington would lose his starting quarterback spot to his teammate Chad Henne. Pennington began his career playing college football with the Marshall Thundering Herd. He helped the team win the Motor City Bowl in 1999, in which he was selected as the game MVP. Pennington was drafted in the first round of the 2000 NFL draft by the New York Jets. He played eight seasons with the team, until August 7, 2008, when the Jets signed veteran quarterback Brett Favre. Pennington entered the 2010 season with the Dolphins as the backup quarterback to starter Chad Henne. Pennington would sit the bench for the first eight games of the year, not appearing in any of the games, even in a relief role.
