Chad Ochocinco's Dancing With the Stars performances with partner Cheryl Burke took them to the final four before being eliminated in Season 10 of the ABC reality show. The pair had planned to return for the season finale to dance one last time but Ochocinco was injured in NFL practice and was not able to dance.
Dancing With the Stars added sports flare again in the season 10 line up with the addition of the Cincinnati Bengals wide receiver. The Cincinnati Bengals player, formerly known as Chad Johnson, legally changed his name in 2008 to the Spanish words meaning 8 and 5 to represent his jersey number. The NFL star was teamed with two-time DWTS winner Cheryl Burke as a dance pair for the show. Cheryl won the season when she was paired with football star Emmitt Smith. In early rehearsal sessions, Burke said the football star was well trained but expressed that he had no idea how strenuous dancing could be. http://www.sportingnews.com/blog/the_sporting_blog/entry/view/11597/introducing_mr._ocho_cinco http://www.tvguide.com/Dancing-Stars/Dancings-Cheryl-Burke-1016488.aspx

Life and Career
Chad Johnson Ochocinco was drafted for NFL action by the Bengals in 2001 during the second round. Ochocinco was a college football star from Oregon State University. He is a five time Pro Bowl player but his days with the Bengals have not always been calm. In 2008, Ochochino demanded to be traded, but the Bengals refused, saying he could play or sit on the bench. In 2009 the Washington Redskins offered a trade for Ochocinco, but the amount would have caused a trade limit problem for the Bengals so it did not occur. Since that time Ochocinco and the Bengals seem to be on better terms but when his contract expires in 2011the trade prospects could come up again. http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/news/story?id=3229722
Many found Ochocinco’s name change to be a strange move, especially as he has since discussed the possibility of changing it again to Chad Hachi Go, to represent the Japanese numbers for 8 and 5. Ochocinco was fined by the NFL for wearing the words on his jersey because it was not his name, thus prompting the first legal name change. Ochocinco had to continue to wear his C. Johnson jersey on the field until his obligations to Reebok were over prompting wonderings if the same will hold true with another name change. http://thedugoutsportsshow.com/?p=977
Why is he dancing? Chad tells USA Today "It's a challenge any time you get outside of your element. And for the first time, I'll be able to be creative and not get fined for it. But having fun — that's key." http://www.usatoday.com/life/television/news/2010-03-22-dance22_ST_N.htm
Ochocinco has now been named as one of the contestants in the upcoming reality show on VH1. The show, currently being called The Tournament puts Ocho Cinco’s in a drama of the dating pool played out in a bracket-style dating tournament. The series is a 10 episode, one-hour series premiering in July 2010
