On August 13, 2008, Cincinnati Bengals wide receiver Chad Johnson appeared as a guest on Pardon the Interruption. During the interview, Johnson was asked if he could beat Michael Phelps in a swimming race. During the interview on PTI, Chad Johnson explained why he is now happy to still be a member of the Bengals. He stated that he was speaking out of frustration when he asked to be traded. Johnson went on to say that he spoke with people such as his mother, Ray Lewis and Deion Sanders, who convinced him to stay in Cincinnati. When asked about his relationship with Carson Palmer, Johnson invited Palmer to appear on camera with him.
