Early Life
Chad Hurley grew up in Pennsylvania. His father was a financial consultant, and his mother was a school teacher. He earned a bachelor's in fine art from Indiana University of Pennsylvania.
After graduation he went to work for Paypal, where he designed their company logo. He left Paypal with fellow employees Steve Chen and Jawed Karim to create YouTube.

In 2005 he launched YouTube which very quickly rose in popularity across the internet. On October 16, 2006 he and Steve Chen sold the company to Google for $1.65 billion.
