Life-long member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints Chad Hardy was excommunicated by the church in July 2008 for releasing the "Men on a Mission" calendar, which featured shirtless Mormon missionaries.
In 2009, Hardy created a female version of the calender called "Hot Mormon Muffins".

Excommunication
Hardy, who resides in Las Vegas, received a letter from Frank E. Davie, a senior leader of a group of congregations in the Las Vegas-area.
