Chad Durbin was born in Spring Valley, Illinois, on December 3, 1977. He later attended Woodlawn High School. In 1996, Durbin was selected by the Kansas City Royals in the third round of the Major League Baseball amateur draft.Baseball-Reference.com: Chad Durbin

On September 26, 1999, Durbin made his MLB debut with the Kansas City Royals. In 2003, he signed as a free agent with the Cleveland Indians. The following season, Durbin was claimed by the Arizona Diamondbacks off of waivers. In 2004, during the off season, Durbin signed with the Washington Nationals. The following season, he signed with the Detroit Tigers in 2005. As of 2007, he is a member of the Philadelphia Phillies pitching staff.
