Following their June 17, 2008, win in the NBA Finals, the Boston Celtics participated in a celebratory parade in Boston.
Beginning at the TD Banknorth Garden, the team's home court, the July 19 parade traveled through Boston Common and ended at Copley Square.
The Celebration
Crowds as deep as 20 rows lined the Boston Commons to view the historic parade.Boston Herald: Rolling rally ends; Celtics celebration draws to a close (June 19, 2008) Celebrants cheered as WWII "duck boats" carried the jubilant players through the parade route. The boats were rigged to shoot out white and green confetti from the sides of the boats, while the players enjoyed cigars. At the and of the planned route, the parade ended peacefully as city workers began the clean-up project.
