The Celtic Sea is located in the Atlantic Ocean off the southern coast of Ireland. It is surrounded by the English Channel, St. George's Channel and the Bristol Channel, as well as portions of Wales, Cornwall, Devon and Brittany.
The name Celtic Sea was first derived from the Celtic heritage that existed in the surrounding areas. It was in 1921, that E. W. L. Holt proposed it should be renamed.
One of the biggest commodities harvested from the Celtic Sea is sea salt. It is highly recommended by doctors, believed to be better for the body then other forms of salt that are available for consumption and tastes better then other kinds available.
