Cell Phone Hazards

'

As cell phone use increases, possible cell phone hazards expand. Several major studies at this time show no link between cell phones and cancer but research is still ongoing. The FDA regulates the amount of radio frequency energy that cell phones are permitted to give off deeming them safe.National Cancer Institute: Cellular Telephone Use and Cancer: Questions and Answers

Other cell phone hazards that are of great concern is driving while using a cell phone. The risk of having an accident while using a cell phone is far greater than getting cancer from it. Text messaging, a way to use cell phones to transmit written messages, is also dangerous when driving because full attention is not on driving but pushing buttons. Experts recommend that individuals pull over to make or answer a call or text message. Some states prohibit the use of cell phones while driving and others require the use of hands-free devices.Insurance Information Institute: Cell Phones and Driving
