Nominations for the 83rd Academy Awards were announced this morning, and ''The King's Speech'' leads the way with 12 nominations, including best picture. Other best picture nominees include ''127 Hours,'' ''Black Swan,'' ''The Fighter,'' ''Inception,'' ''The Kids Are All Right,'' ''The Social Network,'' ''Toy Story 3,'' ''True Grit'' and ''Winter's Bone.''
Oprah Winfrey dropped a bombshell during Monday's episode of her talk show, revealing a "family secret:" that she has a long-lost half-sister that she didn't know existed until a few months ago. Winfrey introduced half-sister Patricia during the show, explaining that Patricia was given up for adoption by their mother, Vernita Lee, in 1963.
TMZ reports that Ted Williams, the homeless Ohio man known as the "Man with the Golden Voice," has quit rehab, after less than two weeks of treatment. On Monday, TMZ reported that Williams "left the Origins Recovery Center in South Texas" and headed for the airport.
Musician Bret Michaels underwent surgery on Monday in Arizona to repair a hole in his heart. The AP quotes a hospital spokesperson as saying Michaels "is recuperating" and remains in ICU for "observation."
