Cedar point is the second largest amusement park in North America. The park dates back to 1870 which makes it the second oldest amusement park in the United States. A local gentleman by the name of Louis Zistel opened a beer garden, a bathhouse and a dance floor. He would charge $.25 to bring guests over on his steamboat, named Young Reindeer, for them to enjoy the beach and facilities. It wasn't until 1892 that the parks first roller coaster would be established.http://www.cedarpoint.com/public/news/history/index.cfm
Now, Cedar Point is known as The Roller Coaster Capital of the World and is not only an amusement park with a large amount of rides but also has an outdoor and indoor water park with the latter located in the hotel on the property.http://www.ultimaterollercoaster.com/coasters/yellowpages/parks/cedarpoint_oh.shtml
A new ride is being built for 2011. It is called the Windseeker. It is a 301 foot swing ride. The rider enters the ride and sits on the swing. It is then pulled up the tower and starts rotation in a circle. The ride will be located on the beach. It is almost as high as Millennium Force roller coaster’s first hill.http://www.cedarpoint.com/public/park/rides/thrill/windseeker/index.cfm

Cedar Point's New Windseeker
Cedar Point will open a new ride in 2011. It is called the Windseeker and is a chair type ride. The rider will be taken up 301 feet on a swing. The swings connect to a tower and swing in a circle. There will be nothing below the riders feet. We see here a virtual mock up of what it will be like for the rider. The video shows the view from the ground, from the air and from the riders point of view.
