According to police, Ramsay confronted his wife, 46-year-old Dady Belfort, and her friend Edwin Chittick at Ramsay's West Babylon home on the morning of April 11, 2009. Ramsay accused Belfort and Chittick, both New York City police officers, of having an extra-marital affair. Both denied the claims and Chittick left the home. Ramsay followed Chittick to the front lawn and began shooting as Chittick and Belfort tried to escape in a black Mercedes SUV.New York Daily News: Retired NYPD Officer Fires at Wife... Several shots hit the vehicle, one of which hit Chittick's hand. As Chittick and Belfort were leaving the home, Ramsay turned the gun on himself, shooting himself in the head. He was believed to have died instantly from the shot.
