    Casey Anthony told police she dropped Caylee Anthony off at Zenaida Gonzalez's apartment on June 9, 2008. She said when she went back, Caylee Anthony was not there. Casey Anthony never notified authorities. She claimed that she conducted her own search. Caylee Anthony's grandparents grew concerned when they had not seen her for nearly a month.   • Mother Lied to Police

    Casey Anthony was arrested on July 15, 2008, and charged with child neglect and providing false information to police. Casey Anthony told police she worked at Universal Studios and provided a phone number and supervisor's name, but Anthony has not worked there since April of 2006.   • Digging Up the Yard

    Casey Anthony reportedly borrowed a shovel from a neighbor at the time of her daughter's disappearance. The police have seized the shovel along with Anthony's computer and her car. They have brought in search and cadaver dogs and have been digging up the yards of Cindy Anthony and her neighbors.   • Later Developments

    The investigation into Caylee's disappearance continued after her remains were found in December 2008. Her mother Casey Anthony is awaiting a murder trial. New details of the case surfaced in January 2009. A video was released that showed a private investigator at the site where Caylee was found a few weeks later. The investigator, Dominic Casey, is shown searching the site and pushing a metal rod into the ground.   • Memorial Service

    A public memorial service for Caylee Anthony was held in Orlando, Florida, on February 10, 2009. During the service, mourners heard from Anthony's grandparents. An emotional George Anthony said "It's God's day. It's Caylee Marie Anthony's day today." Anthony's grandmother, Cindy Anthony, expressed the wish that her daughter had attended the service, saying "I wish I could take away your pain and wipe away your tears. Caylee was so much like you. She got your beauty and your compassion. She will always love you."   • Caylee Anthony Doll

    In late 2008, Showbiz Promotions of Jacksonville, Florida manufactured a doll called the "Inspirational Sunshine Caylee Sunshine Doll", to be sold for $29.99 beginning at noon, January 27, 2009. The doll has blonde hair and blue eyes, although Caylee Anthony had brown hair and eyes; owner Jamie Salcedo said to make the doll similar to Caylee would be "too morbid".
