At 9:20 am on May 24, 2008 a chartered helicopter crashed, killing three people and critically injuring three others.
The location of the crash was on the west coast of the Catalina Island in California.
Someone who witnessed the crash said that they heard a pop and saw smoke pouring out of the helicopter's exhaust before it went down.
The three people injured were airlifted to the hospital and listed in critical condition. They will receive treatment for broken bones and other injured sustained in the crash.
It is unknown what caused this crash. The weather was not good at the time and the visibility was very low.
