Cats are carnivores and as such need a certain amino acid, taurine, that they are not able to make themselves. It is important to give cats foods that have taurine as a supplement, whether it is in dry food or wet food. Having clean, fresh drinking water available in addition to food is important. Cats should eat food in relation to their activity level. More active cats should be fed more than sedentary cats.
