Alien Ship
- Use your bow or your magic to break the control panel at the bottom right.
- Proceed to the right to trigger a fight with a whole lot of aliens. Thankfully, like in the game Alien Hominid, these enemies die in one hit.
- A good method of killing a lot of aliens very quickly is by just using your aerial X attack and just mashing it repeatedly while you go across the stage.
- Once all of the aliens are dead, proceed to the right and break the panel to trigger a cutscene and an explosion countdown.
- Quickly run to the right and break the panel on the other side of the laser fence.
- Hidden Animal Orb: Right after you break the panel, hug the top wall to discover an opening where you'll find the Animal Orb, Install Ball.
- Kill the three aliens to reach the next section where you'll have to try your best to walk along the gaps between the black smoke blowing air ducts.
- TIP: If you're having trouble with this section, use a sandwich to become beefy. The smoke will hurt you, but it wont knock you over.
- Once you clear that section, just kill the last group of aliens and run to the escape pod before time is up.
-
Desert Chase
- Melee warriors may want to hitch a ride on the camel, but ranged fighters would be better off at this point just sticking to their pedestrian ways since they can't use their bow or magic while on a mount.
- Hidden Animal Orb Defeat the enemy that is on the camel to steal his Animal Orb, Zebra.
- Whatever method of transportation you choose, fight your way rightwards until you reach the castle. All of the enemies you face here should be familiar so it's just a matter of making the best use of your own skills.
-
-
Sand Castle Interior
- Hidden Animal Orb: Use two bombs to blow up the cracked wall and pick up the Animal Orb, Scratchpaw.
- The big green guards here are extremely tough if you're melee oriented. Bring a couple of potions along for the ride.
- Once you defeat all the enemies, go through the doorway on the right to move on to the next area.
-
Sand Castle Roof
- Again, no surprises here. There will be about 3 waves of standard palace guards for you to fight through before you reach the "boss" of the level.
BOSS: Volleyball Match
- Once you reach the end, you'll be thrown into a volleyball match against four guards. The object of the game is to hit the ball on to their side and hope that it touches the ground. First to 10 points wins.
- Of course, no one ever said that this had to be a fair game. When the ball is on their side, don't be afraid to hit any opponent that happens to be close enough to the line.
- When the ball flies over to your side, look at the shadows to lineup where you need to be in order to hit the ball back.
- When you win, you'll earn the oppositions respect and their treasure map.

Flooded Temple
- Enter, walk up to the door, and then walk out. You can't do anything here until you get the horn.
Marsh
- Breaking the tombstones here gives you a chance to net some extra loot, but it will also cause more skeletons to rise out of the ground.
- Hidden Animal Orb: Right in front of the crypt after the four tombstones on the top row, you'll find an X on the ground. Dig on the X to find the Animal Orb, Frogglet.
- When the Bat Knight comes along and super charges the skeletons, you're in for one tough fight. Focus on eliminating the smaller skeletons first since they are faster and fire projectiles.
- Many more waves of green enemy knights await you as you continue on. Be sure to break any barrels along the way for health boosts.
- Eventually you'll come across another large troll. Kill it off before it gets the chance to spawn too many small trolls, then clean up the trolls that it did manage to create.
- Towards the end you'll find the Animal Orb Snailburt floating right out in the open.
BOSS: Corn Boss
- The Corn Boss isn't particularly dangerous, but it can take a while to bring down.
- It has three ways of attacking you. The first and most frequent method involves it diving underground and then emerging from under you. To avoid it, just run around when you see it go underground.
- Its second attack has it spinning its stalks around like a tornado as it moves across the stage. This attack isn't particularly damaging, so don't sweat it if it hits you.
- Its third attack, and the one that will be most annoying if you're a melee character, is its cornstalk poke. It will poke its stalk out either at ground level or in the air to try and punch you away.
- Ranged attackers should just hang back out of the range of its pokes and rain down whatever projectiles they have upon the corn beast.
- Melee users should use the tried and true method of using the X X X X Y aerial combo for as long as they can.
- Once the boss goes down, you'll receive the horn and can now travel back to the flooded temple.
- Blip.tv: Castle Crashers Walkthrough - BOSS #12: Corn Boss (Time: 2:28)
Flooded Temple Revisited
- Walk up to the door and use your newly acquired horn to open the door.
- Since you move so slow in the water, it is highly recommended that melee characters make constant use of their air combos, not only to deal damage, but to get around the stage without moving like a snail.
BOSS: Medusa
- Medusa will slither around the stage throwing snakes at you and trying to turn you to stone with her gaze. If you get turned to stone, quickly move the left stick back and forth to break free.
- Ranged characters don't have much to worry about here as long as they keep clear of the poisonous projectiles fired by Medusa's hair and the snakes that she throws at you. She does have a lot of health though so be ready for a long fight.
- Melee characters will have a tougher time, but should still find things pretty easy.
- If you're a melee oriented character, get in as close as you can and block the initial strike. From there, just keep executing quick ground combos and blocking when she readies to punch you again.
- At close range, you can't get hit by her snakes, poison projectile, or her gaze so the only thing you have to worry about is that punch.
- If she backs off to the point where she's off screen, head to the opposite side and let her come back.
- TIP: Hitting her snakes back at her also deals some fairly decent damage.
- Blip.tv: Castle Crashers Walkthrough - BOSS #13: Medusa (Time: 2:10)
Full Moon
- The armor clad enemies here can't be juggled, so stick with ground combos to deal with the small enemies.
- TIP: Cut up the mushrooms for health.
- Hidden Item and Animal Orb: If you have the Cardinal equipped as your Animal Orb coming into this level, you'll find a Keyblade sword. Take this sword to the Animal Ark and use it to unlock the door at the very end. You'll find the Animal Orb, Beholder inside the locked room.
- Once you reach the top of the mountain, you'll start running into ice enemies. Unlike the other enemies in this level, these guys can be juggled, so make full use of that fact.
Snow World
- Attack the outposts and barriers to break them and cause the enemies to become vulnerable.
- Keep up this process of breaking down the ice structures and defeating the enemies and you'll eventually reach a cave that serves as the entrance to the next area.
- Hidden Animal Orb: At the bottom of the ramp behind the first house lies the Animal Orb, Yeti.
- Hidden Animal Orb: At the top of the ramp that leads to the cave entrance, blow your horn to call out the Animal Orb, BiPolar Bear.
Ice Castle
- As soon as you enter, keep on running to the left without stopping to avoid getting hit by the falling stalactites
- After you break down the door to enter the next room, make sure that you can hear the volume for this next section.
- As you cross the bridge, you'll hear audible clues on what type of attack to expect. Use your shield to block the arrows and jump over the Ice Waves.
- Once you reach the end, kill the remaining enemies and proceed to the next room to fight the Ice Wizard.
BOSS: Ice Wizard
- The beginning of this fight is very easy. Whenever the Ice Wizard appears, run to him and use some kind of attack that keeps you in the air. If you're a mage, use your aerial RT + Y attack. If you're a melee warrior, use the X X X X Y aerial combo that you're no doubt used to by now. As long as you're in the air, his only attack that can hurt is when he causes the stalactites to fall.
- Once he's low on health, things will start to speed up. Keep up the same strategy, but make sure to attack through him so you don't stay in one place for too long.
- Keep it up and he'll eventually fall, allowing you to claim a huge treasure chest full of loot and another kiss from a princess.
- Blip.tv: Castle Crashers Walkthrough - BOSS #14: Ice Wizard (Time: 4:03)
Wizard Castle Take Off
- Not much to do here. Just head to the right, blast off and move left and right to avoid the falling rocks.
Wizard Castle Interior
- Magic users, the following is not going to be fun for you. The enemies here are nearly immune to magic so you're going to have to defeat three waves of tough enemies using only your melee skills.
- Once you reach the next section, you'll have to fight a gauntlet of three boss battles. Head through the first door for boss #1.
BOSS - The Painter
- This is a simple, but drawn out boss fight. The painter will go to his easel and paint some kind of Newgrounds inspired monstrosity. That monster will then come to life and chase after you.
- If you let the painting run into you, it will explode and deal some heavy damage. For this reason, juggling is a no-no. Stick with quick ground combos or ranged attack to take the art down.
- Your window of opportunity to deal some damage to the boss is when he goes back to paint another creature.
- Once his health is low enough, the painter will stop painting and will just wander aimlessly around creating his art out of thin air. Avoid the creatures and focus only on dealing damage to the painter to finish him off.
- Once he's dead, collect the food and the treasure and exit through the staircase on the right.
- Break the crystal to move on to the next boss.
- Blip.tv: Castle Crashers Walkthrough - BOSS #15: The Painter (Time: 2:46)
BOSS - Cyborg Cyclops
- This battle with the Cyclops is largely the same as the previous one, just replace his two knives for a giant coffin and his daggers with fireballs.
- The one entirely new tactic for the Cyclops is that he will unleash his zombie buddy on you while he hops around. When this happens, just run around and avoid everything. Neither the zombie nor the Cyclops is vulnerable at this time.
- Aside from that, your tactics remain the same as the previous fight. When the Cyclops swings his coffin, move up or down to avoid it, hit him with whatever you have for a second or two and then move out of the way again. Unlike the other bosses, his attacks don't change as he takes more damage.
- Once again, collect the gold, break the crystal and move on to boss #3.
- Blip.tv: Castle Crashers Walkthrough - BOSS #16: Cyborg Cyclops (Time: 2:15)
BOSS - Bat Knight
- I hope you have potions because regardless of what type of character you are, the Bat Knight is going to be the hardest boss in the game.
- The first phase of this fight involves the boss reviving nearly every enemy type in the game for you to fight at once.
- The first wave of enemies isn't too bad since they're all normal sized enemies. You can deal with them mostly by just spamming your aerial X attack through them all like a lawnmower.
- The second wave of enemies however comes complete with three extremely fast moving and extremely tough beefy monsters. For a melee oriented character, this is a nightmare.
- For ranged characters, this fight is all just a matter of being able to maneuver to a spot where you can safely fire off your attacks. Magic users have the advantage of being able to spam their aerial RT + Y attack to focus on individual enemies.
- Melee oriented characters... Good luck. The best advice that I can give is to stock up on potions and sandwiches to help you take care of the beefy enemies. They may be extra fast, but the same tactics that you've been using all along to take them down still apply.
- Once you've taken out both waves of enemies, the Bat Knight will come down to fight you himself. Thankfully, this is the easy part.
- The Bat Knight himself behaves like a powerful normal enemy so you should treat him as such. All of his attacks can be blocked so use that to your advantage by blocking his magic or combos and then responding with your own.
- Once he's dead, break the last crystal and its off to the final battle!
- Blip.tv: Castle Crashers Walkthrough - BOSS #17: Bat Knight (Time: 3:44)
BOSS: Crystal Mage - Phase 1
- In the first phase of this fight, you actually don't get to fight the boss himself. Instead, you need to destroy four crystals that fly about over head and then crash down into the ground.
- Once they touch ground, wail away at them with whatever you've got. As long as the crystals aren't spinning, you can damage them.
- Once all four crystals are destroyed, the boss will come down himself to take care of you.
BOSS: Crystal Mage - Phase 2
- This next part will destroy you if you don't know the secret behind his barriers.
- When he has a blue barrier, he is vulnerable only to magic attacks. If you try a physical attack on him, you'll take the damage instead.
- Likewise, when he has a red barrier, only physical attacks work.
- Unless you've balanced your melee and magic skills, you might just want to wait until he turns the color that allows your specialty to deal damage and just defend in the mean time.
BOSS: Crystal Mage - Phase 3
- The boss will puff up like a balloon and float around in a circle while firing projectiles that burst when they hit the ground and go off in all directions.
- Don't worry about his projectiles and just focus on hitting the puffball. Melee characters need just mash the X button while in the air, magic characters should get a boost by using their magic jump (RT + A) and then spamming their RT + Y attack, and arrow users should just jump and spam their arrows.
- After knocking his life bar down to nothing, a treasure chest will fall on top of him. Break open the treasure chest to dive right into phase 4 of this battle.
BOSS: Crystal Mage - Phase 4
- Magic users have a fairly easy time here. Use the same strategy that you used in the last battle to whittle away his health. Magic jump to get high up, and then spam the RT + Y attack as you fall down.
- For melee players, things are little bit tougher. Whenever you get close enough to hit him, the boss will hit you away with his scorpion like tail.
- TIP: This is why I recommended that you use Sherbert as your Animal Orb. Sherbert lets you jump higher, which puts you at a height where his tail can't reach you. Once you're out of the reach of his tail, you're pretty much free to just hammer away at him with your X X X X Y aerial combo.
BOSS: Crystal Mage - Phase 5
- This phase is exactly like phase 3 so I'll just repeat what I said there.
- After knocking his life bar down to nothing, a fiery sword will float into his hands to kick off the final phase of this battle.
BOSS: Crystal Mage - Phase 6
- The boss has three main attacks in this phase. His most frequently used attack, and the one that makes him most vulnerable, has him jumping in the air, raising his sword, and causing four meteors to rain down.
- While he is in the air, hit him with whatever you've got, but make sure that you go through him and don't just sit in one place as you attack, otherwise the meteors will hit you.
- His other main attack involves him spinning like a wheel as he moves from side to side. Magic users can use this as an opportunity to pelt him with their RT + B projectile attack while still having enough time to get out of the way. Melee characters should just avoid it all together.
- His final attack is one that he uses fairly rarely, but it is also the one that is least punishable. He will swing his sword and cause a wave of energy to shoot out in a straight line. There's not much you can do about this as it happens really fast and without much warning.
- After each attack, he'll run around for a bit before going into his next attack. This is your other big opportunity to score some easy hits. Since he's so fast, projectile users would be better off predicting where he is going to go rather than firing at where he currently is.
- Once he's down for the count and the platform is destroyed, land on the crystal to begin the ending.
- After you're back in your home castle, run up to the final princess for your last kiss. Surprise!
- Enjoy the dance and congratulate yourself on beating Castle Crashers!

Insane Mode
- After beating the game, you will unlock insane mode. To choose to play on insane mode, go to the world map, travel to the Barbarian Boss, and press down.
- In Insane Mode, you keep your character's level, stats, equipment, and Animal Orbs, but are forced to play through the entire game again from the start.
- This time however, the enemies' stats have been jacked up to insane levels. You should at least be level 40 before you even attempt anything on Insane Mode and even then you'd want a couple of buddies to help you out.
