Castle is a crime drama with spots of comedy and romance starring Nathan Fillion and Stana Katic as a crime fighting team. Fillion plays a crime author and cad Richard (Rick) Castle. Katic plays a police investigator Kate Beckett.
The ABC series premiered March 9, 2009 following Dancing with the Stars and garnered close to 11 million viewers. The second episode showed a slight drop in viewers.Zap2it: Nielson Ratings
Variety reported on May 15, 2009 that ABC had renewed the show for a second season. The show premiered on September 21, 2009 with the first season being released on DVD September 22, 2009 [1]

About The Show
Castle is a show that revolves around a famous mystery novelist named Nick Castle (Nathan Fillion). Nick teams up with a NYPD detective, Kate Beckett (Stana Katic), when one of Castle's superfans starts staging murder scenes from his book. Beckett is unhappy to have a civilian tag along with her as she unravels mysterious crimes, but realizes that Castle may have information and insight that she needs in order to solve the crimes. Castle, on the other hand, decides that he is going to base his new novel's lead character on Beckett, and determines to continue to work with her to research and develop that idea. -
