Cassie Grow had a traumatic birth. She was stuck in her mother Heather Grow's birth canal for 13 hours. Weighing 9 pounds at birth, the doctors knew prior to delivery that Cassie Grow would be too large to be delivered vaginally. But they tried to deliver her that way causing her to get stuck. Heather Grow was given medications to keep her uterus contracting which caused Cassie Grow's head to be pushed against the pelvic arch.
Injuries
Cassie Grow suffers from brain damage as a result of the traumatic childbirth. She has problems with her vision and has limited mobility in her limbs.
Lawsuit
Heather Grow filed a lawsuit against the doctors and was awarded $22.6 million. Judges found the doctors responsible for the injuries that Cassie Grow sustained.
