Casino Royale

  • Casino Royale is the 21st film in the James Bond series and the first to star Daniel Craig.

The Ian Fleming novel Casino Royale has been produced for the screen twice previously, as a television episode in 1954 and as a satirical film in 1967. This version is a reboot of the Bond franchise, establishing a new timeline and narrative framework not meant to precede any previous film. The film is set at the beginning of James Bond's career as Agent 007, having earned his license to kill.

  • Plot

After receiving license to kill from MI-6, the James Bond follows his leads and prevents a terrorist attack at Miami Airport plotted by the banker [[Le Chiffre]. Le Chiffre organizes a poker game in Casino Royale, in Montenegro, in order to recover a huge sum of his clients' money he lost in foiled Miami attack. Bond travels to Montenegro with British accountant Vesper Lynd (whom he eventually falls for) to defeat La Chiffre and force him to look for protection with MI-6, and disclose the names of his terrorists clients.
