Casimir Pulaski was a Polish soldier who fought against Russian imposition in the Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth. As a military commander, he fought in many battles against Russia. He was a member of the Polish-Lithuanian Szlachta, the noble-class of Poland at the time. Pulaski became a general in the Continental Army during the American Revolutionary War.
