Casey Janssen was born in Orange, California, on September 17, 1981. He attended college at the University of California, Los Angeles. In 2004, Janssen was drafted by the Toronto Blue Jays in the 4th round of the Major League Baseball draft.
Pro Career
On April 27, 2006, Janssen made his MLB debut with the Toronto Blue Jays. In his first season he appeared in 19 games and compiled a record of 6 wins and 10 losses with a 5.07 earned run average. In 2007, he appeared in 70 games and compiled a record of 2 wins and 3 losses. He finished the season with an impressive 2.35 earned run average.
