Professional football nose tackle Casey Hampton plays for the Pittsburgh Steelers in the National Football League.
Football Career
Hampton played college football with the Texas Longhorns, starting in 37 consecutive games. He earned a spot on the All-Big 12 Conference Team and was Defensive Player of the Year.
Hampton was selected 19th overall in the 2001 NFL draft by the Pittsburgh Steelers and made an immediate impact as a force in the middle of the Steelers' 3-4 defensive scheme. He is known as an effective run stopper and has opened many options for blitzing linebackers. Hampton has since been selected to four Pro Bowls and was a member of Steelers when they won Super Bowl XL in 2006.
