Cartoon Network is a cable television network featuring youth-oriented animated programming during the daytime and programming for mature audiences on the late-night Adult Swim lineup.
How It Came to Be
Cartoon Network was originally developed by the Turner Broadcasting System as an outlet for Turner's vast library of animated properties, including The Jetsons, The Flintstones and Tom and Jerry. But in 1995, the network began producing their own original programming. After shows such as Space Ghost Coast to Coast, Robot Chicken and the Aqua Teen Hunger Force began to attract a following, the network began producing their own animated shows on a larger scale.
