Carson Palmer Injury

On October 24, 2008, news agencies reported that Cincinnati Bengals quarterback Carson Palmer has a frayed ligament in his right elbow and missed the remainder of the 2008-2009 NFL Season.

In January of 2009, the Bengals announced that Palmer would not require surgery, as the elbow had started to heal on its own. Palmer is expected to be fully recovered for the start of the 2009 season.700 WLW: No Surgery for Palmer

Extent of Injury

Palmer injured the elbow on September 21, 2008, in a game vs. the New York Giants. At the time of the announcement the Bengals were 0-7. Palmer was rumored to be delaying surgery till the last possible moment in order to see if he is able to recover with rest and rehabilitation.ESPN.com: Bengals' Palmer likely won't return in 2008

The Bengals, led by quarterback Ryan Fitzpatrick, finished the 2008 season with an 11-4-1 record, third place in the AFC North Division.
