2003: Tesla is founded by engineers Elon Musk, Marc Tarpenning and Martin Eberhard out of San Carlos, California with the intention of creating a high-performance electric sports car.2006: The Tesla is introduced to the public for the first time in the Roadster, with the ability to accelerate from 0mph to 60mph in under four seconds.
