1913: London's Robert Bamford and Lionel Martin joined forces to sell Singer cars as well as prep them for hill climbing and racing under the name Bamford and Martin Limited.
1914: The company was renamed Aston Martin after a successful climb at Aston Hill.
1915: The first Aston Martin car was registered.
1922: Aston Martin appeared overseas for the first time at the French Grand Prix.
1926: Aston Martin Motors Limited formed.
1928: Aston Martin entered their first car into the Le Mans 24-Hour Race.
1937: Aston Martin produced 140 cars.
1939: A prototype developed with a space frame chassis

and independent suspension is released, called the Atom.
1947: Aston Martin Motors Limited was bought by David Brown.
1948: The Aston Martin 2 litre began production.
1953: The first 2+2 seater, the DB2/4, began production.
1977: The V8 Vantage began production.
1981: Aston Martin was acquired by Victor Gauntlett and

Pace Petroleum.
1987: Ford Motor Company took a 75 percent sharehold of Aston Martin.
1994: Ford Motor Company took a 100 percent holding in Aston Martin.
2003: The 7,000th DB7 was built.
2006: The 30,000th Aston Martin was built.
2007: Aston Martin was bought by a consortium of two international investment houses - Investment Dar and Adeem Investment.
2009: The V12 Vantage was launched, deemed the fastest, most agile Vantage to date with ultimate performance interpretation.
