Carrie was a 1976 horror film based on the novel by Stephen King.
The Plot
Carrie is is the story of a socially out-casted teenage girl who realizes she has telekinetic powers after she undergoes mental and physical torment by her mother, teachers and peers.
Success and Sequels
The film grossed over $33 million in the U.S. box office and was critically acclaimed. The original adaptation was followed by two sequels, The Rage: Carrie 2 and a television version released in 2002. Director Brian De Palma only participated in the first version.
