Carpoolers is an American comedy focused on four guys living in modern suburbia sharing hopes, ambitions, families, careers, and a carpool to work. Though the show is called Carpoolers, the carpool is typically only shown before the opening credits, with the rest of the show focusing on the shenanigans of the four members of the carpool.
Strange Names
Carpoolers features much of the zany comedy that producer and ex-Kids in the Hall player Bruce McCulloch is known for. One of the show's zany expressions comes in the form of wacky character names. The most noticeable of these is the main character's eccentric son, Marmaduke. Another character, Laird (played by Jerry O'Connell has an ex-wife (played by Rebecca Romijn) with the unlikely name of Joannifer. These and other characters help to accentuate the show's comedy, which juxtaposes everyday life in suburbia with zany, off-the-wall characters and situations.
