Caroline, Read your column on tax and spend democrats. Couldn't help think the only people making money in this country are on wall street. The only people we need to support health care reform would be Goldman Sachs and J P Morgan. I am sure the guys selling derivatives that blew up the street would be standing in line to help out the rest of the people out. Even you should be amazed that these pillars of american free enterprise are recording record profits. Of course wall street reflects the american economy ,right. I think that it is laughable that you equated capital gains taxation and other tax raises in with health care. Do the american people a favor and take on a real research project. Research the profit and loss statements of United Health Care and Blue Cross/Blue Shield. I am sure this would step on people's toes that you know but maybe you would sleep better at night. That is what health care reform is really about, not tax policy. You can defend the wealthy all you want to,i beg to ask you this, what investments have been made in.the past few months to help pull the economy out of its precarious state. What have the banks done but to strenghen their balance sheets? Please widen your scope of thought. J Kuehl
