2D to 3D Image Conversion at Carnegie Mellon University
Researchers at Carnegie Mellon University have developed technology to convert two dimensional images into three dimensional pictures. Demos on the image conversion process can be seen here. Flat images of an Amtrak train, a ship, a street and a few buildings are transformed into 3D simulations. A classical piano piece plays to dramatize the significance of the technology.
