  • Major League Baseball starting pitcher Carlos Villanueva currently plays for the Milwaukee Brewers.

    Villanueva originally signed as an undrafted amateur free agent with the San Francisco Giants on March 4, 2002. He spent his first two seasons with the Giants minor league affiliates then was traded to the Milwaukee Brewers on March 30, 2004.

    On May 23, 2006, Villanueva was called up to make his MLB debut with the Brewers. He played 10 games his rookie season with the Brewers, pitching 53.7 innings and finishing with a 3.69 earned runs average.

    Villanueva split the 2007 season between the Brewers and the minors. He played 59 major league games, earning eight wind and pitching 114.3 innings. Villanueva started the 2008 season as a full member of the Brewers roster.
