Carlos Slim is a Mexican billionaire businessman who has recently been named the second richest man in the world by Forbes. Slim is estimated to be worth roughly $60 billion, which is second to investor Warren Buffett who has a reported net worth of $62 billion, and beat out Bill Gates who held the number one spot for 13 straight years. Slim controls three telecommunication companies: Telefonos de Mexico (Telmex), Telcel and America Movil. At this point he no longer runs the day-to-day operations, leaving the responsibility to his three sons.
