  • Carlos Marmol is a right-handed pitcher for the Chicago Cubs. A native of the Dominican Republic, Marmol originally signed with the Cubs as an amateur free agent in 1999. After seven years as a minor league pitching prospect in the Cubs minore league farm system, Marmol made his major league debut on June 4, 2006. Originally considered a starter, Mermol started 13 games for the Cubs in 2006, posting a 5-7 record with a 6.08 ERA. The Cubs have since decided that his skills are best suited for work out of the bullpen. Marmol is the Cubs primary setup man.

    Marmol is a hard thrower, and is helped by a very good change-up. He pitches well against righties and lefties.[1]
