Italian-born model and singer Carla Bruni continues making headlines after marrying French President Nicolas Sarkozy. A recent French diplomatic visit intensified interest in the new French First-Lady, with some news organizations asking if Bruni could be the new "Diana".
On June 5, 2009, a photo of Bruni, called "Carla Bruni in Bed," sold at auction to an anonymous bidder for $19,600. The photograph, taken by Pamela Hanson in 1994, was appraised at just under $5,000 prior to the auction.
