Carl Worthington is a 28 year old Oregon man who, along with his wife Raylene Worthington, was indicted on charges of second degree manslaughter and criminal mistreatment in the death of their 15 month old daughter Ava. Worthington and his wife are members of the Followers of Christ Church in Oregon City, a congregational that believes in faith healing and forbids its followers to use traditional medicine. The couple's daughter died from complications of bronchial pneumonia, an ailment treatable with antibiotics.
