    On January 26, 2009, Eller was found guilty on two gross-misdemeanor charges related to his arrest in 2008, when he was accused of assaulting two Minneapolis police officers.   • Sues Police Dept.

    Eller sued the Minneapolis Police Department in January of 2009 claiming that his civil rights were violated and officers used excessive force during an April 2008 arrest. He was stopped by police after allegedly failing to stop at a stop sign. Eller claims that he was followed home by the officers, who then used a metal flashlight to strike him on the head, causing him to lose consciousness.   • Arrests

    In February 2006, Eller was arrested for driving under the influence after police stopped him for traveling 97 MPH in a 55 MPH zone. In April 2008, Eller was again arrested for both driving under the influence and assaulting two Minneapolis police officers. The officers received facial injuries in the altercation. According to police, Eller was tased several times, but the shocks had no effect on the former player.
