Carl Edwards is a professional Auto Racer for the NASCAR Circuit.
Carl has been racing in one of NASCAR’s top three divisions since 2002 when he debuted in the NASCAR Craftsman truck series (currently known as the Camping World Truck series) driving for Mike Mittler. In 2003 he was hired by Roush Fenway Racing to drive the #99 Super Chips Ford F-150 in the same series. In 2003 he won three times and earned Rookie of the year honors in the truck series.
He followed that up with three more wins in the Truck Series in 2004, and by August of that year after Roush had let Jeff Burton go to pursue better opportunities Carl was placed in the #99 car on the NASCAR Sprint Cup circuit. http://www.carledwards.com/about-carl
In 2005 Carl campaigned fulltime in both the Cup, and Nationwide (then called the Busch series). He was given the #60 Nationwide Series car which once had been Mark Martin’s ride, and a car that had won a title in that series with Greg Biffle piloting it. That year Carl won four races, and would have been Rookie of the Year in both series had he not run so many races in 2004. He ended up winning ROTY honors in the Nationwide series that year on the strength of five wins in that series. http://racing-reference.info/driver/edwarca01
In 2007 Carl won his only national NASCAR series title to date, when he won the Busch series title in the final year that Busch was the naming sponsor for that series. He won the title on the strength of four wins, 15 top five finishes and 21 top ten finishes.
Through the 2009 season Carl has amassed 16 Cup series wins, 25 Nationwide Series wins, and six Truck series wins.
