President Obama has been invited to given the commencement at Notre Dame on May 17, 2009. Bishop D'Arcy, the bishop of Fort Wayne-South Bend, has said he will boycott the event. The Cardinal Newman Society have agreed with the Bishop's decision, and posted an online petition protesting the President's appearance at the school.
