Billy Batson is granted powers after being specifically chosen by the Egyptian wizard Shazam to become Captain Marvel. With his superpowers, Captain Marvel is able to help others around the world. His powers are endowed from various mythological figures and include superhuman strength, speed, physical invincibility, and mind-reading. In order to turn into Captain Marvel, Billy has to exclaim the phrase "Shazam!".
