Captain America: The First Avenger Super Bowl Ad
Chris Evans is shown in a movie trailer for Captain America, The First Avenger aired as a Super Bowl commercial in 2011. Evans is seen as a soldier in World War II fighting a battle against the Hydra organization.
Paramount Pictures invested $3 million to show a 30 second clip of the summer 2011 movie Captain America, The First Avenger during Super Bowl XLV. The movie, not yet rated, is a Marvel Studios production which will hit theaters on July 22, 2011. Chris Evans is seen as Captain America. While the commercial was not released before the game took place, a poster showing Evans as the superhero was released in advance and confirmed the movie's release date.
Captain America: The First Avenger
Under direction of Joe Johnson, Chris Evans will star as Captain American and Sebastain Stan will play his side kick Bucky. The movie is set in the early days of Marvel Universe when Steve Rogers enters an experimental program and becomes the super soldier.
In addition to Evans and Stan, the movie will star Tommy Lee
Jones and Hayley Atwell among others. Hugo Weaving plays the villain, Red Skull in the battle with
Captain America in a World War 2 setting. The movie releases during the
superhero's 70th anniversary year. The movie joins other Marvel character movies including "Iron Man 2" which released May 7, 2010, "Thor" due out in May 2011 and an Avengers movie projected for 2012.
Captain America: Comic Books
The Captain America website indicates a new superheroes comic book release as a prequel to the movie. The first issue was made available online on Super Bowl Sunday. The books will be released as a series leading up to the movie release. The 13 page downloadable comic book is called First Vengeance.
