The Canon ZR830 MiniDV Camcorder features a 35x optical zoom and 1000x digital zooms well as a 2.7 inch widescreen LCD viewing screen.

The 35 times optical and 1000 times digital zoom is combined with an image stabilization feature to optimize zooming. The camcorder can also be used to take still photos and record widescreen high resolution videos. Also included is a nine point auto-focus feature with DIGIC DV image processing technology. The ZR830 is designed for use with SD HC memory cards to store videos and photos.

CNET reports an easy to use interface with the joystick style controller as well as good colors in well lit conditions but feels the ZR830 does not provide good quality when used at maximum zoom or in poor lighting conditions. Amazon customers like the ease of use of the model and find it affordable, but complain of motor noise, which can be heard on recorded videos.
